The Initial Diabetic Assessment is a 40-minute prolonged consultation for new patients living with diabetes. Your podiatrist checks sensation and blood flow in your feet, inspects your skin and nails for pressure areas and early changes, assesses your ulcer risk and talks you through footwear and what to look out for between visits. With your consent, a report can go to your GP or diabetes educator.
You're seen by an AHPRA-registered podiatrist. Whether treatment on the day suits you is decided by your podiatrist at the appointment, not at purchase.
